About me
Me on a plate: I live to eat, not eat to live. Lemon is my salt. I started cooking at age 6 and have been a lover of all things food (well I do have a few food-quirks) as long as I can remember. I also happen to work in the culinary industry as the Marketing & Promotions Director for a NYC Restaurant Group. While I have help from my awesome chef friends, I really consider myself a home cook. I’ll recipe browse for inspiration (and technique direction) but I make every recipe my own. I’ll classify my food with the following adjectives: fresh, local, delicious, healthy.
I can eat (nearly) anything with: Lemons, Rao’s Marinara, Ponzu Sauce, Balsamic Vinegar. Anyone who knows me, knows these obsessions.
I don’t eat: 95% of cheeses (I know), fresh mint, black licorice.
I would say 90% of the time my recipes are healthy (as I’m always on a diet & the WW points system is permanently engrained in my head). But I really believe that you don’t need to sacrifice flavor to make something healthy. Holidays and dinner parties (the 10%) are when I have fun with butter, and frying, and never-ending-carbs.
Me as a food blogger: So why a blog? I’m always posting photos of my food, and occasionally, friends ask for the recipe. But there in lies the rub. I don’t follow recipes (see above). So my purpose here is to share my creations as best as I can, but written for those who already have a feel for the kitchen – so when I say mix mayo & siriracha (for spicy mayo) – I don’t really have measurements, so good luck! BUT if you have any questions, please call or email me.
I am not a professional food or recipe writer, nor am I pretending to be. I write in the same voice as I talk. (And I love to use curved brackets). Lastly, I would never be a good spelling or grammar teacher, and I’m OK with that. I hope you are too!
Enjoy my food!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!
